The Early Childhood Development material enables learners to maintain written
reports about babies, toddlers and young children, concerning, amongst others,
biographical data and emotional development and different types of caring and
nurturing, e.g. eating, sleeping and illnesses.
It assists in planning and creating a healthy environment, where children can play
safely with various types of equipment and guides them to support their emotional,
physical and social development. Material demonstrates how to establish trusting
relationships, stimulates loving nurture and comfort as well as managing behaviour.
It also explains the importance of welfare and health needs as well as interaction
between the child and other children or adults. The material consists of a Facilitators
Guide and a Learners Workbook.
The material complies with all the National requirements. Level 4 covers 26 credits and
can form part of the GETC qualification.
