Description
The title of this work, Attitudes, is intended to sum up the link that connects the stories, or, put another way, the thread running through them. Each story deals with the attitude of the writer (or one or more of the characters) towards different subjects. Most of the topics revolve around aspects of the human condition and so, along the way, views will be encountered about matters such as love, hate, compassion, selfishness, bravery and cowardice, to name but a few.
The stories in this anthology were drawn from various eras and backgrounds. This was done to reflect a society characterised by one of its most important legacies, namely, a rich cultural diversity. Inevitably, then, most of the stories deal with the ideals, customs, values, and ideas of the different social groups that make up our country. This rich collections of old and new South Africa writing will appeal to young adult and older readers.
